Football Manchester City, second in the English Premier League, will have to cope without air for the next few weeks Kevin De Bruynea.

City manager Pep Guardiola told a news conference on Friday that the Belgian star player has been on the sidelines for up to six weeks.

“The doctor said the absence lasted four to six weeks after the pictures,” Guardiola confirmed, according to news agency AFP.

On Saturday, City will play the fourth round match of the English Cup in the Second League, the fourth highest league against Cheltenham Town FC.

City is likely to take the lead without its key players, but to his chagrin, the Belgian star is also missing from important league games against Liverpool and Tottenham.

“We have to go ahead and find a solution, but unfortunately he’s out of an important part through,” Guardiola said.

City was also injured against Aston Villa Kyle Walker, who doesn’t play on Saturday, but will return to action according to Guardiola maybe already in the next game.

Sergio Agüero is missing from the City lineup due to coronavirus infection. An Argentine striker said he was infected with a corona on Thursday.

“He felt uncomfortable a couple of days after the test, he was tired and had symptoms,” Guardiola said.
