Isabel Pardo de Vera, the former president of ADIF, former Secretary of State of Transportation will sign for ACS as ‘Senior Advisor’ in matters of digitalization, as sources close to the company of Florentino Pérez have confirmed to ABC.
With this incorporation, advanced this morning by El Confidencial, which cords its salary in 400,000 euros, the construction company is made with a profile that was key in the infrastructure policy of the first government of Pedro Sánchez, where it first occupied the presidency of Adif between 2018 and 2021 in the ministry of José Luis Ábalos, and then the Secretariat of State of Transport with the entrance of Raquel Sánchez as head of Development. Sources of their environment assure this newspaper that it will combine the new role in ACS with the advice to other private companies.
Degree in Engineering of roads, channels and ports at the Higher Technical School of Engineers of La Coruña in 2001, Pardo de Vera entered Adif in 2007 -after a few years in the private sector. From there he went to the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, in 2015, as director of Mobility and Infrastructure, and A year later, Adif was reincorporated, a company of which she was appointed president two years later.
He maintained that position until 2021, when the new Minister of Transportation, Raquel Sánchez Jiménez, appointed it Secretary of State for Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda, a position that had to leave in 2023 for the controversy that generated the design error of the FEVE trains, which did not fit in the tunnels of the line to which they were destined. Very famous was that fiasco, who also took ahead of the president of Renfe, Isaías Táboas.
Be that as it may, two years later Pardo de Vera returns to private life and closes a ten -year chapter in high public positions. And it must be remembered that in December 2023 he already tried to make that leap in trying to occupy the presidency of Asval -The Association of Housing Owners for rent-, but had to give up that effort for the fear that the Office of Conflict of Interests would veto the appointment since just a few months before the elected occupied a political position of relevance.
