Federal deputy Alexandre Frota (PSDB/SP) wants only people vaccinated against covid-19 to be able to vote in this year’s presidential elections. On the first day of the legislative year, the former Bolsonarista congressman filed a bill to require voters to present their vaccination certificate before voting.

According to the bill, the exception will only apply “in the case of presentation of a medical declaration or certificate attesting to the contraindication of vaccination”.
As a justification, the deputy says that immunization against Covid-19 “protects all people in the community and reduces the risk of contagion”. He also says there is no reason not to get vaccinated:
“The lack of vaccination of the entire Brazilian population no longer makes any sense, the immunizations were acquired in sufficient numbers for all people. The act of not vaccinating is extremely harmful to the population, because as we know the contamination of this virus is extremely fast. […] the denial of vaccine efficacy has no scientific evidence”.
