German police have yet to identify any suspects at Wednesday’s event attended by Olaf Scholz.
The Berlin Police is investigating several complaints from women who claimed to have been drugged during a party of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD), which was also attended by Chancellor Olaf Scholz. To date, the security forces have identified five victims. All of them attended on Wednesday a summer party organized by the Social Democrats and held near the headquarters of the Chancellery.
The first complaint came from a 21-year-old woman who said she felt sick and dizzy and experienced memory loss after attending the party, which was attended by more than a thousand guests. The woman, who assured that she had not drunk alcohol at the event, maintained that she could not remember anything about the event after 9:30 p.m. She alerted police after going to the hospital, where she had a blood sample taken and a toxicology test performed, but the results are not yet available, according to a police spokesman.
The Guàrdia Urbana has not yet identified any suspects, while the SPD has already condemned the incident. Likewise, a spokesman for the Social Democratic parliamentary group indicated yesterday that he was not aware that the affected women had been victims of other crimes such as robbery. The police spokeswoman indicated, for her part, that no more crimes had been detected, not even sexual assaults.
The Police repeatedly warn of the danger that criminals mix these substances in drinks at parties or clubs and rob or sexually assault the victims. Investigations in these types of cases are often difficult since the victims often do not remember what happened.
