In the Nizhny Novgorod region, five people suffered from the use of pyrotechnics in the New Year, three needed hospitalization, reported on January 1 in the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies.
Thus, five incidents related to pyrotechnics were identified in the region per day: four incidents in Nizhny Novgorod and one in the Koverinsky district.
“Three burns by pyrotechnic items and two explosions of a pyrotechnic item were recorded. There are no fatalities. Five people were injured, no children, ”the department said.
It is noted that in Nizhny Novgorod a 43-year-old man received a Bengal fire on his hand. He was taken to the Institute of Traumatology of the Volga Medical University. A 38-year-old man received a similar injury, but refused hospitalization. In addition, a 39-year-old man with a bursting firecracker tore off the nail phalanx on the finger of his right hand, he was also hospitalized. A 39-year-old woman was also admitted to the hospital, suffering an eye injury from a bursting firecracker.
In the village of Kovernino, a 34-year-old man turned to doctors for help, who lit five Bengal lights at once and was burned.
The day before, on December 31, a fire broke out in Irkutsk in a nine-story residential building on Kostychev Street. According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by the use of pyrotechnics. Rescuers evacuated 53 people.
