Universal and Blumbhouse have revealed the release date of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2: the film will debut in cinemas on December 5, 2025, in line with the previously indicated timing. In short, the wait will still be quite long.
Universal has also added other Bumbhouse films to its schedule, including “The Woman in the Yard” for March 28, 2025 and “Drop” for April 11, 2025. The long-awaited sequels “M3GAN 2.0” have also been postponed from May 16 to June 27, 2025 and “The Black Phone 2” from June 27 to October 17, 2025.
The Five Nights at Freddy’s series
The Five Nights at Freddy’s films are based on the namesake survival horror video game series created by the developer Scott Cawthon and started in 2014. The first film (here is our review) follows the events of Mike Schmidt, the night watchman at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, who must face the threat posed by the five animatronic mascots of the place, sentient and driven by instincts murders.
Made with a budget of around 20 million dollars, the first Five Nights at Freddy’s grossed a whopping 297 million dollars globally, becoming the Blumhouse production studio’s biggest commercial success, with the film also debuting on the Peacock streaming service. In short, considering the success, a sequel was quite obvious, as was the great anticipation on the part of the public.
For the moment, no details have been provided on the staff and cast and possibly which actors from the first film will return to shoot the sequel, with more details likely to arrive as soon as the film goes into production, probably by the end of this year.
