“This is an important sentence that marks a new moment in the relations between the ultras, society and the state”. So the lawyer Luigi Chiappero, legal defender of Juventus after the sentences of 5 ultrà bianconeri. “The private violence against other fans, the criminal association and the various extortionate facts that have been confirmed – added Chiappero – give a different signal, we can no longer say ‘Juventus are us’ in the way it was said by demanding the things that are expected and in that way. It takes a different relationship, the fan has to become a new fan, the whole stadium has to change “. And again: “To arrive at a sentence of this kind we need a state that believes it is asserting its strength and a club that believes in the fact that that type of fan counts but not that much. This is an important first step – concludes the lawyer – but looking at the other stadiums there is still a long way to go “.
