This weekend Torrelavega has been another of the points from which troops and materials have left to help those affected by DANA. A team of five volunteer firefighterstraveling with troops from Castro Urdiales to the Valencian Community.
Those five firefighters, who They will be relieved based on needscarry a team made up of two generators, two combustion pumps, two electric pumps and water rescue and autonomous lighting equipment, as well as a pick-up vehicle with a trailer, among other materials. The Torrelavega City Council, in response to the request of the Government of Cantabria, made on Saturday through the General Directorate of Security and Civil Protection, decided to send this team to help the victims.
On the other hand, this Sunday in the Plaza de La Llama the collection of materials to send to affected areasa point that will also be operational on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., along with another in La Lechera at the same time. The most urgent materials, requested by humanitarian organizations that are working in the area, are water and milk, non-perishable foods – preserves, pasta, rice and oil -, personal hygiene products – diapers, sanitary towels, shower gel or shampoo – and cleaning materials -bleach, detergents and disinfectant products-.
