Batman: Caped Crusader is a new animated series from the titular hero of Dc comics what will be coming to HBO Max next year. Just in 2021 it became known about the existence of the project, and thanks to the DC FanDome 2021, we already have our first official details.
JJ Abrams, one of the main responsible behind this new show, revealed that we are facing an “origin story”, in which we will see what Batman was like during his first years fighting crime. According Abrams, this series will be “a reimagining of the animated series of the 90s, but without restrictions”.
In the same way, he confirmed that we are facing a dark history where Batman it will have practically no ally. I mean, don’t expect him to get help or from Commissioner Gordon far from the other members of the League of Justice.
For its part, Bruce Timm, executive producer, confirmed that this Batman he must solve everything without the use of technology, thus hinting that the story could unfold in the middle of the 20th century.
Batman: Caped Crusader will be available in Cartoon Network and HBO Max in 2022.
Editor’s note: I sincerely hope that this series manages to be as good as the original from the 90s. It’s definitely good news to know that Abrams is borrowing a lot from the cartoon, but we’ll have to wait until the final result to see if he delivered or not.
