Fires In Saariselkä, Inari, a commercial building is returning, and the residents of the adjacent accommodation have been evacuated

The rescue service will try to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the accommodation next door.

In Lapland A commercial building is returning to Saariselkä in Inari, says the Lapland Rescue Department in a press release. The Rescue Department received an alarm about the fire on Monday morning at 3.47.

By the time the first rescue unit arrived at the scene of the fire, the roof of the building had already burned. The rescue service will try to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the accommodation next door.

Early Monday morning, the Lapland Rescue Department says on Twitter that the accommodation next door has been evacuated. On-call firefighter Lauri Manninen according to police had estimated that there would be about twenty evacuees.

According to the rescue service, the retail building will be completely destroyed and the extinguishing work will continue throughout the day.

The Rescue Department is not aware of any injuries from the fire. Units from Saariselkä, Ivalo, Inari, Sodankylä and Kittilä are extinguishing the fire.
