As a precautionary measure, about 60 people were evacuated from the hotel and were allowed to leave the building themselves, according to the on-duty firefighter. One person was slightly injured after inhaling the flue gases.

Rescue work had been completed by three in the morning, and police are scheduled to begin an investigation into the cause of the fire on Monday.

The rescue service received an alarm on the fire via an automatic fire detector.
