During a fire in a hotel in the center of Sofia, in Bulgaria, a Colombian woman was killed and six other foreigners were injured. Local media reported that two children were also affected.

Reports confirmed that the flames started on the third floor of the hotel, which was at full capacity with foreign guests, Sofia’s deputy fire department chief Lyubomir Barov told BNR public radio.

The media published that a woman died, two elderly people were hospitalized and two children, aged one year and seven months and 12 years old, were admitted to the hospital as a precaution, he added.
So far the nationality of the injured is not known. The state news agency BTA claimed that the dead woman was Colombian.
Low-cost flights and cheap hotels have made the capital of Bulgaria a popular destination for foreigners.
