President received 25 guests at the official residence to thank the 2023 approvals and strengthen ties with deputies
The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) received on Thursday night (22.Feb.2024), at Palácio do Alvorada, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), the ministers Rui Costa (Civil House), Fernando Haddad (Farm), Luciana Santos (Science and technology), Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations), Paulo Pimenta (Secom) and party leaders. In total there were 25 guests present at the happy hour from the PT member.
“With dialogue and unity, we will rebuild and make the advances that Brazil needs”wrote the president in your profile on X (ex-Twitter). The meeting was held after the inauguration of minister Flávio Dino in STF (Federal Court of Justice).
O Power360 found that the meeting was to relax the atmosphere and seek to improve the relationship with the deputies. After the meeting, the government released a calendar for releasing parliamentary amendments.
Lula thanked the leaders for approving the agendas in 2023. He listed some, such as the ceiling-breaking PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution), approved in 2022, the tax reform, the project on scholarships and the fiscal framework.
Lira said she wants to contribute to the government this year, but preached that the dialogue continues. The President of the Republic signaled that he should repeat the meeting held on Thursday (Feb 22) more often.
The menu served at Alvorada was cold cuts and snacks. Drinks included wine, whiskey, beer and soda.
The leader of the Government in the Chamber, José Guimarães (PT-CE), gathered the leaders in a circle and thanked each one by name for the approvals.
