PL had the highest vote, with 15.7 million; PSD, MDB and União Brasil come next, while PT appears in 6th
THE PL (Liberal Party) had the highest number of votes for mayors in the 1st round of municipal elections. The ex-president’s caption Jair Bolsonaro won 15.7 million votes – an increase of 236.2% compared to 2020.
Subsequently, the PSD (Social Democratic Party) had 14.5 million votes for the municipal Executive. It had less expressive growth than the PL, with 36.7% compared to 2020.
3rd, the MDB (Brazilian Democratic Movement) was just behind the party led by Gilberto Kassab. It won 14.4 million votes in 2024, with a growth of 32.4%.
Candidates for mayor of Union Brazilthe result of the merger between the DEM and the PSL in 2022, had 11.3 million votes. There were around 200 thousand votes difference compared to 2020.
THE PP (Progressive Party) had 9.9 million votes on Sunday (6.Oct). Despite being numerically below the parties that lead the ranking, the party of President of the Chamber Arthur Lira had similar growth to that of the PSD and MDB, with 30.9%.
THE PT (Workers’ Party), from the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvacame in 6th place. The party received 8.9 million votes. The party won around 2 million more than in 2020, which represents growth of 28.2%.
THE PSDB (Partido Social Democracia Brasileira) had a drop of 56% compared to 2020. The number fell from 10.6 million in 2020 to 4.7 million in 2024. Can we and the PDT (Democratic Labor Party) also shrank in the vote to 35.4% and 40.3%, respectively.
