The manufacturer of Final Fantasy XVI Naoki Yoshida has answered questions from numerous international newspapers by revealing further details on the game, which will be released in the second half of 2023 exclusively on PS5. We then discover that the game will feature a vast arsenal of attacks and abilities based on the mythology of Final Fantasy, and that the battles between Eikon (the invocations of this chapter) will have different game mechanics, ranging from 3D shooter to fighting games. The protagonist Clive will have companions in adventure who will follow him in some parts of the game, but they will all be controlled by the computer. The story will retrace Clive’s life from adolescence to thirty years of life. Yoshida has also made it known that the game will be complete at launch, and the team does not foresee additional DLC or chapters as happened for Final Fantasy XV. The game will not be an open world, but will be based on single large areas to explore. Finally, a third trailer will be available in the fall, focusing on the game world and the storyline.
