Through an article published by IGN the news is spread that Final Fantasy XIV is the most profitable of the entire saga, with a new record of registered players, within 11 years of its release. The data were reported by the same director Naoki Yoshida, who also spoke of the latest expansion, entitled Endwalker.
The online title community recently surpassed 24 million players, a new record since the game has been released 11 years, making this MMORPG the most profitable of the entire saga. Recently the whole community had also gathered to greet Kentaro Miura, the author of the manga Berserk, recently passed away.
The data has been revealed during the official presentation of Endwalker, the latest expansion that had been officially announced at the beginning of the year, along with the arrival also on PlayStation 5. The director also took the opportunity to underline how the initial situation was very different, with 4 million registered users in 2015, after the release of the new version A Realm Reborn.
Regarding the data, Yoshida himself comments:
It is perhaps inconvenient for me to say this, but in terms of business, we have been able to achieve great success. Moving forward, we intend not to save with our investments, so as to ensure that this game continues to be one that our players can enjoy.

While this new expansion wraps up a huge chunk of history, it doesn’t mean the game is over at all, leaving open the possibility for further updates over the next few years. The recent success has pushed the whole team to want to continue, also given the reaction of the fans and the record numbers that the title has managed to obtain over the last period.
Final Fantasy XIV then celebrate a record number of players, which exceed 24 million, a figure that does not seem to want to decrease very soon. We can not help but await new expansions that will go even further to increase the playability of this incredible MMORPG.
