SQUARE ENIX today celebrates a very important date, the anniversary of one of his most beloved titles: FINAL FANTASY X turns 20. It was June 19, 2001 when the then Squaresoft released in Japan the tenth chapter of the famous franchise, which in a short time managed to win the hearts of Japanese players thanks to its poignant plot and a classic but well-balanced combat system. Although it took almost a year for the European release, given that it only arrived in Europe in May 2002, the tenth chapter was a real success and quickly became one of the most popular JRPGs of all time.
Both commercial and critical success meant that the software house decided to expand the narrative with the release of the controversial FINAL FANTASY X-2, in which the narrative tones were heavily modified compared to its predecessor. The original plans of the development team also included the realization of a third chapter, and just last week Tetsuya Nomura, Motomu Toriyama is Kazushige Nojima they talked about how its development is not totally to be excluded.
While waiting to find out if this will really turn into reality I remind you that there is no better way to celebrate the twentieth anniversary than FINAL FANTASY X than to venture back into the world of Spira. The title is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC thanks to the FINAL FANTASY X | X-2 HD Remaster collection which contains within it the remastered version of the two chapters.
