While the recent PlayStation 5 DualSense controller manages to replicate almost all the real sensations of a fight, a fan turned Cloud’s sword into a controller for Final Fantasy VII Remake, with lots of tests also on PS5. The user in question is SuperLouis_64, famous for similar examples with other games as well.
Exactly one year ago the same user had managed to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with the Ring-Con, but this time around the challenge was greater as he first had to recreate the Buster Sword, the weapon icon of Cloud, and then apply the motion sensors. Despite this, the result is incredible, despite the fact that the space in the room is in some moments too small.
The controller, despite being very difficult to handle, it is a prototype but also works very well on PlayStation 5 consoles, where only some bugs remain to be eliminated, in order to completely complete the project. At the moment Louis himself has not made it known if it also works on the DLC, of which we had a lot of information over the summer, but the possibility is very high.
In answering some questions about Twitter, the controller’s author reveals that it weighs just under 2 kilograms, making it hypothetically lighter than the sword itself, also given the particular shape that is now iconic. Despite everything, it is certainly an even newer way to experience action, which requires the use of several muscles in the body.

My buster sword controller for # FF7R is coming to life. I just finished some motion testing before I go all in on building the controller and my current code is almost perfect. Kid me who pretended to be Cloud would be so proud 😭 pic.twitter.com/DjAI91iqd0

Over the years Louis he has done many other experiments of this type, how to play call of Duty with Donkey Kong’s bongos or beat the final boss of Dark Souls 3 with a banana. It is therefore not the first time that he has ventured into such an experiment but the results are still incredible.
Being able to turn Cloud’s sword into a controller for Final Fantasy VII Remake it’s definitely something that will go down in history, especially for the size of the full-size Buster Sword.
