Square Enix published a tool a few days ago benchmark for Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrailcapable of acting as a test to try out the new graphics settings required by the upcoming maxi-expansion, but the software apparently has some problems, including a curious case of “dead eyes” for the characters displayed with this, which prompted the developers to improve the tool through an update.
The issue was explained by the producer and director himself Naoki Yoshidawho in a post on the game's official blog explained that Square Enix is working on a new version of the benchmark tool published this week, capable of making several improvements and fixing some problems discovered so far.
All of Final Fantasy 14 will receive numerous graphic improvements with the arrival of Dawntrail and the quality level shown by the benchmark is not yet the definitive one, Yoshida assured, explaining that the team did not have much time to perfect the tool to the maximum.
A general improvement on the way
The particular condition of the characters' eyes, which according to many users appear strangely dull in the benchmark, is due to lack of light sources and reflections applied in this section of the face, as well as other problems such as the lack of contours for the faces, which make the appearance a little flat.
These things will be corrected with an upcoming update for the benchmark, which should more faithfully reflect the graphics situation of Dawntrail, capable of making a notable upgrade to the entire aspect of the game, from the characters to the scenarios.
