Figure skater Mikhail Kolyada won the Russian Grand Prix for the first time in his career. The correspondent of “Lenta.ru” informs about it.
At the end of the first day of the tournament, the 25-year-old athlete ranked third in the overall standings. However, thanks to the successful rental of the free program, Kolyada rose to first place. The final result of the Russian is 281.89 points.
The second place was taken by Maurice Kvitalishvili, representing Georgia. Third place went to another Russian, Peter Gumennik.
Mikhail Kolyada has two bronze medals at the European Championships, a bronze medal at the World Championships, and a silver medal at the Games in Pyeongchang (within the team competition). In addition, the skater became a silver medalist at the 2017 World Team Championship in Tokyo.
