The Fiat Tipo Cross range has made it possible to offer a different interpretation of the Turin family, offering customers a more versatile model. In the wake of this success, the same name could be used for the future Panda line-up, for example for the Fiat Uno Cross. The hypotheses about the use of the historical name for one of the declinations of the future generation of the Italian best seller are becoming more and more insistent and so there are those who are already working on the first design hypotheses of what could be the appearance of a hypothetical One in the style of electric crossover.
An example of this is the work carried out by JM Design which gave life to a Fiat Uno Cross starting from the shapes and lines of the new Opel Mokka. A gamble that might not be so wrong considering the fact that the internal synergies at Stellantis will certainly lead to a segment B model with a Fiat badge based on the same platform as the Fulmine crossover. This model will be born in Poland, in the Tychy plant on the same lines as the Alfa Romeo Brenner and the baby Jeep and will be based on the CMP platform that has given life to many successful models of Peugeot, DS and Opel. In the hypothesis of design by JM, some references to the concept car can also be seen Fiat Centoventi which will be dusted off by the Italian car manufacturer precisely for future cars, as confirmed by the CEO of the Lingotto Olivier Francois. Unlike the prototype seen at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, this car has a closer link with the world of crossovers, with greater ground clearance and the use of protective plastics on the front, rear and sides with the use of typical sideplates.
Obviously this is just an exercise in style and there aren’t any official confirmations about the project of a Fiat Uno Cross by the Italian brand. The B-SUV in the pipeline, however, has been spotted only once to date, with the forklift that used the Opel Mokka body.
