The range of Fiat Tipo is preparing to welcome a new variant. This is the Cross version for the Station Wagon bodywork, which will complement the declinations already available and introduced on the occasion of the recent restyling of the model. In fact, other forklifts with covered livery have been spotted on the road which testify how the Italian car manufacturer is continuing road tests for the Tipo Cross Station Wagon, with the debut of this version which should take place in the course of 2022.
The new high-lift version of the Tipo will enter a market segment aimed at families and business customers, taking on rivals such as the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, Toyota Corolla Trek and Ford Focus Active Wagon. There will be no major changes compared to the model that was the protagonist of a stylistic and technological facelift in 2020. Expected therefore the side protections and in correspondence with the crossover-style bumpers, the increased ground clearance (40 mm more than the traditional SW) and the 17 ”wheels. Compared to the traditional SW version, the rear bumper will be redesigned due to the longer rear overhang of this body variant. The range of engines should include the same solutions found on the Tipo Cross Hatchback, namely the three-cylinder 1.0-liter 100 bhp engine, the 1.3-liter Multijet diesel capable of delivering 95 bhp and the more powerful 1.6 diesel Multijet from a liter which produces 120 hp.
