The first official images of the new Fiat Grande Panda immediately aroused mixed reactions regarding the new generation of the iconic model of the Italian brand, which will be reborn as a completely new car, the longest in over 40 years of history, with a modern and refined design. retro at the same time.
1. Shared platform
The new Fiat Grande Panda will be born on the STLA Smart platform, the so-called Smart Car, also the basis of the new Citroen e-C3 and the new Opel Frontera. Thanks to this multi-energy architecture it will be possible to have a fully electric powertrain but also hybrid versions and with internal combustion engine.
2. Serbian Panda
The new generation will be born in Serbia, in Kragujevac. This is the progenitor of a new family of models that will be presented with one launch per year from now until 2027.
3. Fiat Grande Panda, in every sense
The new Fiat Grande Panda is the result of the design created in the Turin Style Centre. It will be placed in the B segment, with a length of 3.99 meters and is characterized by simple and rational lines, elements that have characterized the style of this model since its inception. The look of this new evolution of the Panda conveys robustness and modernity, with a particularly dynamic appearance of the bodywork achieved thanks to the taut lines and well-marked wheel arches.
4. Homage to the past
The side view of the new Fiat Grande Panda recalls the design of the 1980s generation, with a wedge shape and roof racks. On the doors then a tribute to the Panda 4×4, with bas-relief letters printed in 3D on the doors that reflect the surrounding environment, with the inclination of the C pillar further emphasizing the link with the past of this car. A black square badge is connected to the glass graphics, helping to generate a lenticular and at the same time suggestive effect, transforming the four FIAT letters into four bars. A further homage to the original Panda is paid through a glossy black bezel with the three-dimensional letters of Panda, an element which simultaneously increases the volume of the car.
5. Electric and hybrid at an affordable price
Alongside the electric version of the Fiat Grande Panda there will also be a petrol variant which will remain faithful in philosophy to the Panda we know today. According to some rumors coming from France, the new generation of Fiat Panda will be equipped with an endothermic version a 100 HP engine and will not exceed 15,000 euros, a cost all in all in line with the current one. It is possible that at a later stage the BEV range will expand with a second version with a smaller battery (similarly to the e-C3) with a price close to 19,000 euros.
