The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) of Mexico announced the dismantling of a Criminal network specializing in the theft and trafficking of minorswith operations in the states of Chiapas, Morelos and Puebla.
In a recent operation, the FGR managed to rescue two minors and bring three suspects to trial involved in these crimes.
According to a statement from the FGRthe criminal gang was identified and dismantled thanks to a investigation directed by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Human Rights (FEMDH).
The operation was carried out after receiving a complaint which activated the power of attraction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of the Crimes of Forced DisappearanceAs a result, six arrest warrants were issued and simultaneous searches were carried out: four in Puebla and two in Morelos.
Among those arrested is Pablo “O”, captured in Cuautla, Morelos, who allegedly provided falsified birth certificates to the local Civil Registry.
Two others, Jesus “L” and Dalindy “C”, were arrested in Oaxaca while they were heading to Chiapas, the state where the victims were sent for later sale. These individuals now face charges of kidnapping and participation in the child trafficking network.
In addition to these arrests, the FGR highlighted the rescue of two minors during a search in Jiquipilas, Chiapas, underlining the effectiveness of coordinated actions in various locations.
However, the judicial situation did not favour all those involved; a control judge released two other people arrested during the operations, alleging a lack of specific evidence regarding their direct involvement in the crimes under investigation.
This has sparked some controversy and discussion about the effectiveness of the evidence presented by the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The FGR has assured that investigations continue, with the aim of bringing more members of this criminal network to justice and reaffirming its commitment to protecting the rights of minors in Mexico.
