British soul and pop band Simply Red will perform at Pori Jazz next summer. Vocalist Mick Hucknallin the band has sold over 60 million records over the decades.
The band’s biggest hits include Stars mixed If You Don’t Me By Know, a cover made from an old r & b classic, which became a huge hit in 1989.
The band released their debut album in 1985. Picture Book presented an effortful ensemble from Manchester that served an English view of the traditions of American rhythmic music. A studio album released in 1991 Stars is the best-selling album in British pop history. Simply Red’s latest album Blue Eyed Soul appeared in 2019.
In addition to the festival has been added to the software Charles Lloyd feat. Bill Frisell, Thundercat and Finnish Performers X Agents, Pori Jazz’s Ted Curson Award last summer Tuomo as well as an album that has garnered rave reviews, recently released by Linda Fredriksson Juniper.
Previously announced artists include John Legend, Lewis Capaldi and Emeli Sandé. A special concert by Hector Reimagined will be heard on Saturday, July 16th.
