The joy of the President of the Prancing Horse
Winning is difficult, confirming is even more so. There Ferrari in 2023, upon returning to the Hypercar class, it won the Centenary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and repeated it 12 months later, unlocking its place in this 2024 World Endurance Championship which seemed cursed after the disappointments of Imola and Spa.
The Ferrari #50 of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen picked up the baton ‘left’ by the #51 which with Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado nevertheless reached the podium in third position, thus coming close to total success for the Scuderia from Maranello which also dreamed with the customer car #83 driven by Robert Kubica, Robert Shwartzman and Yifei Ye before a technical problem with the battery put an end to the race of the Hypercar characterized by a yellow livery with about four hours left until the checkered flag.
The President of the Prancing Horse John Elkann he commented on Ferrari’s eleventh victory in the premier class in the 24 hours of Le Mans: “Our first and third places at Le Mans are testimony to how teamwork can make extraordinary achievements possible. For this I would like to thank everyone – our pilots, engineers and mechanics – who, during these very tough 24 hours, demonstrated courage and great tenacity. I am happy that, between last year and this year, all our drivers won at Le Mans – and with them all of Ferrari. Only such a united and determined team could achieve this historic goal.”
