The wait for Hamilton in red

In the weeks following the – sensational – announcement of theFerrari's hiring of Lewis Hamilton for the two-year period 2025-2026the parties involved preferred to avoid further comments, to focus on the current season.

In fact, in these first weeks of the world championship both Frederic Vasseur and Lewis Hamilton rejected any questions on the choice to join their paths from next year, sometimes responding in a somewhat impatient manner to the insistence of journalists.

Surprise statement

In a long interview granted to Radio France last April 14th, Vasseur, however, made an exception: “Lewis Hamilton's arrival is important for the team. In addition to speed, he brings serenity, experience and his palmares to the team. He has winning experience which we need at Ferrari to continue to improve.”

The team principal is very calm about coexistence with Leclerc: “I'm also very happy because I'm sure the two will get along. And this will help Charles as a driver: we're not just talking about performance in the car, in qualifying or in the race. That's 365 days a year and I think Lewis is an absolute master at this.” concluded Vasseur.
