Almost three months after Charles Leclerc’s clear triumph on the Australian track in Melbourne, Ferrari has returned to win a GP. The sweet taste of the triumph at Silverstone, however, was tainted by the common feeling of the great opportunity lost with the Monegasque’s car, clearly the fastest on the track. Leclerc, accomplices of the strategic decisions certainly not flawless of the red wall, reached the finish line only in fourth position, nibbling just six points from the world leader Max Verstappen, protagonist of a race full of problems and finished in seventh place. Instead, it was the redhead who triumphed Carlos Sainzwho in Great Britain gave himself his first career victory.
A result obtained also thanks to a certain decision-making towards the hesitant strategic calls of the Ferrari garage. All these elements contributed to unleashing the anger of many Maranello fans, who did not perceive Sunday’s as a result to be truly celebrated. The leaders of the Prancing Horse, however, went straight on their way, celebrating with the traditional ‘raise the flag’ Carlos Sainz’s day of glory at the entrance of the Gestione Sportiva. On the official Twitter profile of the team, in fact, Ferrari has published the photo of the third red flag raised at the entrance to the gates of Maranello. A celebration that, however, did not fail to anger some Leclerc fans, who made themselves heard quite emphatically in the comments to the celebratory post.
