Ferrari has reintroduced the huge “rake” that had made its debut on a red last year in the first free practice session of the Abu Dhabi GP on the SF1000 driven by Sebastian Vettel.
This time the eye-catching data acquisition system was mounted on Charles Leclerc’s SF21 to collect data from the new Abu Dhabi track, so as to be able to detect useful information for the new simulator that came into operation from the Jeddah race and to store data that will be useful when in the tests the two drivers will use the mule car equipped with 18-inch Pirelli tires.
Ferrari has now optimized the use of the new detection system which not only defines a network of sensors, but also investigates the quality of the flow over a very large surface.
Pitot tubes and pressure sensors are oriented according to what should be the trend of the individual flows exiting the rear diffuser.

The Scuderia also took to the track with newly asymmetrical front brake baskets. The one on the right is particularly open, while it is completely closed on the left side due to the differentiated need to bring heat to the rubber through the rim, as the stresses on the tires are very different.
Ferrari plans to close the game for third place in the Constructors’ World Championship having a big point advantage over McLaren (38.5).
