A new adventure begins for the Prancing Horse. Pending news on the Hypercar, Ferrari announces a technical partnership agreement with ORECA for the assembly and after-sales services of the new GT3 which will begin on-track testing in early 2022.
The agreement confirms the long-term commitment of the Maranello brand to the main championships for GT cars.
The new GT3, designed entirely in Maranello by the team directed by Ferdinando Cannizzo, Head of GT Race Car Design and Development, will be assembled at the ORECA plant in Signes from 2022, before starting development work that will end with the racing debut of the car, scheduled for 2023.
“The agreement with ORECA represents an important starting point for the new GT3 project – declared Antonello Coletta -. We have very ambitious goals as the car will inherit the legacy of the 488 which represents the most successful model in the history of the Prancing Horse. We can count on the competence and preparation of our engineers and on a partner of excellence that has achieved prestigious successes in the endurance world such as ORECA, so we look to the future with confidence “.
