The hot words of the Ferrari driver
Dominator in Monaco, eliminated in Q2 in Canada even if due to a matter of thousandths: Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are bitter on Saturday in Montreal where rain did not characterize Qualifying although the forecast indicated an 80% probability that a few drops would fall over the 60 minutes.
Leclerc and Sainz were eliminated in Q2 for a few thousandths, the regret remains of not having fitted the last set of new soft tires that Ferrari preferred to save for Q3. George Russell, for example, took pole with used tires and was unable to improve with new ones (by 26 thousandths).
Charles Leclerc commented on this disappointment to the microphones of Sky Sports: “The set of new tires? I have to look back, but the real problem today is that every lap we did we were between eighth and twelfth position. I’m pretty angry because I did a lap too early in Q2, and that wasn’t good. At the same time there was a McLaren in the middle of Turn 10, we’ll see what happens, but if we put everything together the summary of this qualifying is that we weren’t fast enough.”
