Ferrari, Bahrain tests very positive
Yes, they are just tests. And indeed in Ferrari it doesn't go beyond a shy smile. The time classification, however, states that the Scuderia from Maranello achieved the best time on the second and third days and – what matters most – showed important improvements in race pace, especially with C1 and C2 tyres. Improvements seen yesterday with Carlos Sainz and today with Charles Leclerc.
Leclerc's words
The Ferrari driver commented in this way on the third day of testing on the Bahrain track, which sees him at the top of the timesheets (this figure is only partially indicative, because not everyone ran on the soft tyre).
“They were three positive days, we closed them by once again completing a good number of laps and trying different things, which is certainly positive. The car reacts exactly as we want but it is difficult to judge our level of competitiveness for the moment. The sensations are certainly better than a year ago: now all we can do is concentrate on the Grand Prix, I can't wait to get back in the car next week“.
It is too early to say how much these improvements could impact the results: if we base ourselves on the impressions of Charles Leclerc, who last year immediately understood how the SF-23 was a clear step backwards, we can understand the optimism that breathe in Maranello.
