New Ferrari Daytona SP3, the supercar which is inspired by the 24 Hours of Daytona of 6 February 1967, when the Cavallino placed three cars on the podium of the first race of World Sport Prototypes Championship of that year.
The limited edition car was presented at the Mugello international racetrack as part of the Ferrari World Finals 2021 and becomes part of the segment ‘Icon’ which already includes the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2.
How is the new Ferrari Daytona SP3?
The design of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 is based on the juxtaposition of contrasts: plastic and sensual surfaces alternate with strong lines reminiscent of the preponderant entry of aerodynamics into racing car design of the time such as the 330 P4, the 350 Can-Am and the 512 S.
Also from the world of Sport Prototypes comes the strong choice of equipping the Daytona SP3 with a type bodywork ‘Targa’ with removable hard top.
New Ferrari Daytona SP3 technical features
From a technical point of view, the new Ferrari Daytona SP3 is inspired by the refinement of the engineering solutions already adopted in 1960s racing cars; in fact, today as then, the search for performance was carried out by intervening on the same three areas. The car is equipped with a naturally aspirated V12 engine in a central-rear position, typical architecture of racing cars.
This version of the most iconic thermal engine of the Maranello company counts on 840 hp of power (making it the most powerful ever produced by Ferrari), 697 Nm of torque and a maximum engine speed of 9500 rpm. The engine adopts a V of 65 ° and 6.5 l displacement already seen on the F140HB engine of the 812 Competizione, of which it incorporates all the improvements
The chassis is made of composite materials using Formula 1 technologies that have been missing on road Ferraris since The Ferrari, the latest supercar of the Prancing Horse.
The seat integrated into the frame reduces the weight of the car and places the driver in a driving position similar to that of a racing car.
New Ferrari Daytona SP3 performance
Top performance, worthy of a Ferrari, the Daytona SP3 accelerates from 0 to 200 km / h in 7.4 s And from 0 to 100 in just 2.85 s. The maximum speed is 340 km / h.
Ferrari Daytona SP3 price
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a true work of art, produced in limited edition, just 499 pieces, all already sold. The price is higher than the 2 million euros.
Ferrari range Icon
The ‘Icon’ segment of the Ferrari range was born in 2018 with the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2, cars inspired by competition boats from the 1950s.
This line celebrates Ferrari history based on a design inspired by the timeless style of the most representative cars of the House of Maranello, but strongly reinterpreted in contemporary key, as well as on the use of the most innovative materials and technologies available today.
