The fog has been enveloping the Mugello Circuit since the early hours of this Saturday morning and the race direction had to cancel the Ferrari Challenge Qualification 2 as regards Coppa Shell and Trofeo Pirelli.
The sessions were scheduled from 9.00, but after various postponements and 60 ‘of waiting, it was decided not to proceed with the operations on the track, sending the Shell Cup drivers back to the pits. The same was true for the Trofeo Pirelli shortly after.
The definition of the starting grids for Race 2 will therefore be based on the order of arrival of Race 1 held on Friday.
Todd Coleman (Ferrari of Denver) won the Coppa Shell, ahead of Ernst Kirchmayr (Baron Motorsport) and Fons Scheltema (Kessel Racing).
Giuseppe Ramelli’s fourth place gives the Rossocorsa-Pellin Racing rider the primacy in Class Am, with his rival in the category Alexander Nussbaumer (Gohm Motorsport) right behind.
Following are James Weiland (Rossocorsa), Laurent De Meeus (HR Owen-FF Corse) – third AM – Willem Van Der Vorm (Scuderia Monte-Carlo), Christian Herdt-Wipper (Saggio Munchen) and Benoit Bergeron (Ferrari Quebec) in complete the Top10.
In the ranking reserved for Asia Pacific competitors, Jae Sung Park (FM Korea) will start ahead of Kirk Baerwaldt (Blackbird Concessionaires).
As for the Trofeo Pirelli, at the post will be Luka Nurmi (Formula Racing), flanked by Niccolò Schirò (Rossocorsa) and behind his teammate Frederik Paulsen.
New Champion Michelle Gatting (Scuderia Niki-Iron Lynx) will start fourth, followed by Thomas Neubauer (Charles Pozzi-Courage), Christian Brunsborg (Formula Racing), Doriane Pin (Scuderia Niki-Iron Lynx), Luca Ludwig (Octane 126), Cooper MacNeil (Ferrari of Westlake) and Sergio Paulet (Santogal Madrid-MST Team) to complete the To10.
