One city, one track. Ferrari. Connect the dots and you get the quintessence of automotive passion. Or rather, a love for cars.
All done live and tangible in Imola, from 15 to 21 October 2024. There, for the third time in history, after the 2022 and 1998 editions, the Imola track hosts the Ferrari World Finals with all the red cars in the world called to collection.
But not only that: on Sunday the “Ferrari Show” will be staged, a tour that connects the center of Imola to the racetrack with a parade of all the Ferraris in the world, including the 499P protagonists of the FIA WEC (winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024, with Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, and in 2023, with Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi) and also including the 296 GT3 which this year celebrated the historic success at the 24 Hours of Daytona with Pier Guidi, Calado, Davide Rigon and Daniel Serra.
But why Imola? I asked Alessio Rovera, official Ferrari driver: “Imola – he explained to me almost emotionally – is a special circuit for every driver, in particular for an Italian who drives a Ferrari and represents the Maranello company in the race. Furthermore, in my case, the relationship with this racetrack is very intense if I think that here in 2020 I obtained my first victory with a Ferrari, the 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of AF Corse which I shared with Antonio Fuoco and Giorgio Roda, in a season that in the end it ended with the title in the Italian GT Endurance Championship: truly exciting moments that occupy a special place in my memory.”
There are many reasons why Imola is a special place. But even more special is the fact that Ferrari gives fans the opportunity to meet its drivers and see every type of Ferrari up close. Unique emotions.
Like those promised by the races because the last act of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will also take place in Imola, which will feature drivers and teams from the international series Europe and North America, between Wednesday 16 and Friday 18 October, with over 100 cars expected in track.
But not only that: for the entire duration of the event the 4,909 kilometers of the Imola circuit will be besieged by numerous track sessions reserved for the F1 Clienti, Sport Prototipi Clienti, XX Program (78 cars have already been confirmed) and Club Competizioni programs GT (over 20). So we go from Lauda’s car to Schumi’s, passing through that of Alesì and other legends, up to the 499P Modificata (the model that inaugurated the new Sport Prototipi Clienti program from 2024); the laboratory cars not approved for the road which bring the technologies developed in Maranello to their maximum expression; and many models that have competed in the most renowned GT series over the last thirty years.
In short, the entire world of Ferrari is under the spotlight. But, above all, the unconditional love of thousands of fans for the Reds. Something unique in the world. Which is good for the entire automotive sector, which today more than ever is short of passion.
