American mixed martial artist (MMA) Tony Ferguson will fight Brazilian Charlis Oliveira. About it reports ESPN.
It is noted that the parties are close to concluding a deal. Ferguson, 36, thus got a new fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The fight with Oliveira is expected to take place on December 12 at UFC 256.
On November 20, UFC head Dane White named Ferguson among potential rivals of Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov in the event that the latter resumes performances. According to the promoter, before the fight with the Russian champion, the American should have had a fight with Michael Chandler, a newcomer to the UFC and a former Bellator champion.
In May, Ferguson suffered his first defeat in eight years, losing to Justin Gage. Initially, Nurmagomedov was to become the American’s rival.
Ferguson is a former interim UFC champion. On account of his 25 wins and four defeats. The 31-year-old Oliveira has 29 wins and eight defeats.
