The owner of the Moscow football club “Spartak” Leonid Fedun commented on the statement of the sports director Dmitry Popov about the desire to leave the club. His words transfers “Sport-Express”.
“It’s not a man’s thing to run after defeat. Due to the fact that you were not approved by the candidate that raises doubts for the purchase. This is not a man’s act! All I can say. Unfortunately, Popov already had a similar situation. Well, God bless him, “said Fedun.
Earlier, Popov wrote a letter of resignation from the team. His manager said that the reason was the disagreement with the management on the transfer policy and the formation of the squad with the participation of former head coach Domenico Tedesco. “In such a situation, I do not see the point in further staying in the club. I don’t hold on to the place and I don’t want, excuse me, to be patient, ”Popov summed up.
Popov became the sports director of Spartak in November 2020. As a player, he played for the team from 1989 to 1993.
