(Reuters) – The Federal Reserve may need to raise rates four or more times this year if inflation persists, Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic said on Thursday.
“I’m really open to adjusting that as we get more clarity on how the economy is evolving…the data could be perhaps more pessimistic in terms of how we’re doing with inflation. And if that happens, I’m going to change my view, maybe four (highs) and depending on how things go, maybe more than that,” Bostic said during a virtual event hosted by the Atlanta Fed.
