The Federal Revenue Service opens this Monday (September 23, 2024), at 10 am, the consultation of the 5th batch of Income Tax refunds. The bank credit of the 511,025 refunds will be made on September 30, in the total amount of R$ 1,032,907,305.12.
Of this total, R$435,272,217.34 refers to refunds from taxpayers with legal priority:
- 11,188 – for seniors over 80 years old;
- 75,686 – for seniors aged 60 to 79;
- 6,731 for people with some physical or mental disability or serious illness;
- 23,180 for people whose main source of income is teaching.
In addition, 201,381 refunds will be allocated to people who do not have legal priority, but who received priority by using the Pre-filled Declaration or opting to receive the refund via Pix. A further 106,289 refunds were allocated to non-priority tax payers. Finally, 86,570 refunds were included in the batch for people who were prioritized due to the state of calamity. decreed in Rio Grande do Sul.

To find out if the refund is available, the taxpayer must access the Federal Revenue websiteclick on “My Income Tax” and then on “Check Refund”.
The page provides guidance and service delivery channels, allowing for a simplified consultation or a complete consultation of the declaration status, through the processing extract, accessed in e-CAC. If any pending issues are identified in the declaration, the person can rectify the declaration, correcting any information that may be incorrect.
The Federal Revenue Service also provides an application for tablets and smartphones that allows you to directly consult the agency’s databases for information on the release of income tax refunds and the registration status of a CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registry).
If the taxpayer does not withdraw the amount of his/her refund within 1 year, he/she must request it through the e-CAC Portal, available on the Federal Revenue website, accessing the menu Declarations and Statements > My Income Tax and clicking on “Request unredeemed refund in the banking network”.
The Federal Revenue Service only pays refunds to bank accounts held by the taxpayer. Therefore, security procedures prevent payment if there is an error in the bank details provided or a problem in the destination account.
