Sinaloa.- The federal deputy of Sinaloa, Yadira Santiago Marcos defended the benefits of the electrical reform and lamented that currently the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) is “tied by the hands” to invest and generate energy, which leads it to be underutilized and only the private ones obtain benefits with the figure of self-supply.
With the figure, he explained that the same entrepreneurs helped each other to generate their electricity and it was cheaper, but Currently there is a “power wash”, under the argument that they are producing and selling energy to large companies that can pay the commercial rate.
He questioned whether a small store pays a higher rate, but those convenience store entrepreneurs, some banks or commercial chains, refuse to do so. Therefore, he stated that they are the ones who are angry with the electrical reform, who refuse to pay fair rates in accordance with their activity.
He assured that the opposition parties tell pure lies and half-truths, but according to the Morenoites, citizens must know that they are going to obtain benefits, such as low rates and fair prices for electricity consumption.
“Mexicans are subsidizing the private sector and that is what we want to combat in the reform,” he said.
He ruled out that the reform will cause a return to the seventies and that the CFE will monopolize, and insisted that the opening for investors is being respected, with 54% in charge of the CFE and 44% for private investors, that this last figure would allow it to be sold to 40 million Mexicans, an amount that, by comparison, is necessary to cover the demand for electrical energy in a European country, such as Poland.
Among other lies that are told, he listed is that they are not going to promote clean energy, and the truth is that they have not spoken out in favor of investing in clean energy, solar or wind.
