The construction area of the FCC Group increased its income during the first nine months of 2024, by 4.4% to reach 2,137.8 million euros, a growth based on the development of industrial projects (renewable energy plants and gas), as well as the positive execution of the road and railway projects that the area builds in the different countries where it carries out its activity.
In Spain, turnover increased by 7.3%, to 878.1 million euros, with greater activity in industrial projects (especially in the development of solar installations, such as those of Guillena and Tagus 380). In Europe, turnover grew by 29.9% to 614.9 million euros, supported by progress on the A-465 motorways in the United Kingdom, the A-9 in the Netherlands and the Sotra Bridge project in Norway. In the Middle East and Australia, the area has increased revenues by 59.5% to €192 million, driven largely by the NEOM railway line in Saudi Arabia and the Riyadh Metro.
FCC Construction continues to consolidate its growth as an international construction company, ranking 29th in the ENR Top 250 International Contractors list. And it is the third Spanish construction company worldwide, for the second consecutive year, according to Deloitte’s Global Powers of Construction.
Unique international projects
In addition to the projects mentioned, others stand out such as the expansion project for Line 2 of the Panama Metro (winner in the railway projects category, in the ENR Best Global Project), as well as the recent award of FCC Construction Australia, selected as contractor responsible for the delivery of 490 social and affordable homes in South Cairns, the largest social and affordable housing development in Queensland, Australia. Using a state-of-the-art modular solution, FCC Construction Australia will deliver 490 new social, affordable and specialist disability homes in Woree, Cairns.
As for the Santiago Bernabéu, designed and built by FCC Construction, it has been recognized as the best stadium in the world of 2024 by the World Football Summit (WFS), the main platform for the global football industry “for its innovative features and its ambitious vision of redefining not only the panorama of sports stadiums, but also the cultural and economic fabric of Madrid.”
In this context, the FCC Group is developing different activities in the populations affected by the effects of the Dana of October 29, to recover damaged services. Just 24 hours after what happened, the construction area is collaborating in the reconstruction, cleaning and restoration of part of the affected services, and FCC Industrial has deployed its technical and human resources in Cuenca, to replenish all the supply points of light, specifically in the municipality of Mira, one of the most damaged in the province.
For its part, FCC Construction is working on the reconstruction of the two existing damaged bridges of the CV-33 (intersection of the Rambla del Poyo with the CV-33 (Pincaya) in the “zero” zone of the DANA). And Convensa carries out the cleaning of the C3 railway line between Valencia and Buñol, acting along the entire route and at the stations of San Isidre, Xirivella, Aldaia, L’Origuilla, Cheste, Chiva and Buñol.

Its Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report (GHG) and its Sustainability Report 2023-2024 represent a transparency exercise towards its interest groups, showing the behavior and performance of the organization in terms of corporate social responsibility, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals that are framed in the 2030 Agenda.
FCC Construction has also participated in the Climate Summit and Leaders Summit 2024 NY, organized by the United Nations Global Compact, with presence in plenary sessions, interactive work groups and opportunities to establish contacts. Its performance in sustainability has earned distinctions such as the ‘Zero Waste’ certificate in two of its projects (the Los Berrocales urbanization, in the Community of Madrid, and the ‘Playa devías’ railway project in Valladolid).
In the area of governance, FCC Construction has participated in the Think Lab on Business Integrity of the United Nations, held in Vienna, thus becoming the first company in the sector in Spain to join the initiative. A participation in line with the objectives set at the meeting: «Raise the bar so that companies are not only more responsible, ethical, transparent and inclusive, but also address their impact on the environment and societies, while contributing to public institutions, laws and the systems in which they operate.
