Flick has won all of his three previous duels against the royal as Barcelona coach. At the last meeting in January, the Blaugrana had won the Supercup. Now Flick can continue to dream of triple.
Pedri brought Barcelona the lead (28th), the substitute Kylian Mbappé equalized by free kick (70th). In a wild final phase of the regular playing time, thanks to Aurélien Tchouaméni, Real was even in front (77th), Ferran Torres (84th) brought Barca to extra time.
