Dubai (Etihad)
Tomorrow, Thursday, the Sheikhs competitions will start within the Fazza Championship for Falconry, the main “Talwah”, organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center in Al Ruwayyah area in Dubai. The anticipation will be great, as usual, for the Sheikhs’ races, in which the strongest teams compete in the arena of this ancient heritage sport, as the most prominent of them confirmed the participation, foremost of which are the teams: Al Dhafra, F3, Baynunah, Al-Nif and others.
On the first day, the Jeer Shaheen runs will be held, followed by the Jeer Taba races on Friday, and next Saturday, the Pure Gear runs, and next Sunday, the Qarmousha runs.
The tournament was completed today with the public runs, which had been postponed due to weather conditions, after the organizing committee decided to take this step for 48 hours, in order to preserve all participants, birds and workers in the tournament.
For his part, Demithan bin Suwaidan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Fazza Championship for Falconry, said that Al Rawiya Square is one of the best fields for falconry races in the Gulf region, as it has a distinct ground that can be changed according to weather and wind speed variables, noting that this particular field has become an ideal destination. It is frequented by the majority of falconers to experience the performance of racing birds before buying them or to test their abilities in the air or to keep pace with the wind speed to achieve record time in competitions. One place to another according to the meteorological movement indicators, where its specialized staff is located in the smart control room to measure the air speed and determine the appropriate place for the race and the time for the change in light of it.
