The race of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates” for women’s endurance special stables, will start at 6:30 tomorrow morning, “Saturday”, at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba, for a distance of 100 km and four stages, with the participation of elite female jockeys representing various stables in the country.
The race is held with the support and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with a pricing system, and the organizing committee has the right to purchase any of the participating horses, after passing the veterinary examination.
The race is organized by the Emirates International Endurance Village, and an amount of 1.5 million dirhams has been set for the first-place horse, one million dirhams for the second-place winning horse, and 500,000 dirhams for the third-place winning horses that complete the race.
The organizing committee of the championship set a number of conditions, and it was decided that the minimum age of the horse is 6 years and above, the maximum heart rate of the horse is 64 beats per minute, the minimum weight is 50 kg, and the minimum speed is 14 km per hour.
A veterinary examination was conducted on the participating horses, to ensure that they conformed to the specified specifications according to the conditions of the race, and the organizing committee of the championship set a number of conditions that must be adhered to.
Musallam Al Ameri, Director General of the Emirates Village for Ability, thanked and appreciated His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and said: His Highness has been supportive of equestrianism and ability in general and its races in the village in particular.
Al Ameri praised the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to implement the pricing system in the races for citizens, and said: This support contributes to increasing interest in their horses to achieve the first places to benefit from the pricing, so that the end result will be more interest and keenness to participate in this sport.
He added: We are pleased at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba to host and organize the races and provide all the elements of success for them, through logistical and technical support for the participants, and work to create the appropriate atmosphere for competition, according to the highest international standards.
For his part, Muhammad Al-Hadrami, Events Manager in the Village, confirmed the complete readiness to host and organize the second race this season, which bears the name of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak for Ladies, after the remarkable success recorded by the first race, which bore the name of the fiftieth Union Day, and whose great joy we live in all events. in the state.
He said: The village provides all participants with what helps them to provide their best technical levels that contribute to pushing the knights and knights of ability to the global podiums.
The Knights of Bin Ham Stables holds the title of the previous edition, as the race was not organized last year, and the Knights of Bin Ham won the first and second places during the race.
Dutch jockey Sophie van Eglen won the title of the race on the horse “Fidelio von Siedbaden”, recording 3:40:21 hours, and an average speed of 27.22 km per hour.
And her companion in the stable, Slovakian jockey Michaela Sopkova on the “Matia de Cavallon” horse, came in second place by a fraction of a second, and the jockey Khadija Ahmed on the “Mistco XR” horse of Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi stables came in third place with a time of 3:46:25 hours.
