The father of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov, who died during a special operation to protect the population of Donbass, spoke about what kind of person his son was.
He noted that his son died doing his duty and defending his homeland.
“When an officer of the Russian army is given a task, he fulfills it. My son is an officer of the Armed Forces and died for the Motherland,” said the father of the hero.
He also shared that at the age of 15 he sent his son to a military school. According to his father, Gadzhimagomedov served in the army for five years, went on a business trip to Syria twice.
“And then Ukraine, Donbass, Crimea,” he concluded.
Earlier, on March 3, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, expressed his condolences to the relatives of Senior Lieutenant Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had signed a decree awarding senior lieutenant Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov the title of Hero of Russia posthumously. The Russian leader said that Gadzhimagomedov confidently commanded the fighters.
In addition, he said that Russian servicemen during the special operation in Donbass show courage, and said that the families of servicemen who died during the operation will receive more than 7 million rubles, and the wounded will receive an additional payment of 3 million rubles.
For participation in the special operation, an additional payment of 5 million rubles will be established.
On February 17, the situation in Donbass escalated significantly due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The DPR and LPR announced the evacuation of civilians to the Russian Federation, and also asked for recognition of independence. The President of the Russian Federation signed decrees recognizing the sovereignty of the republics on February 21, and on February 24 Russia launched a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass, denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
