The concentration will take place on July 21, starting at 10:30 a.m., in front of the Exolum facilities
After announcing last week that they were going to promote joint mobilizations in the face of the evolution of fuel prices, the agricultural organizations Asaja, COAG and UPA agreed this Friday to convene a concentration of farmers and ranchers at the gates of the Exolum-CLH company to denounce « the speculation of the oil companies”, which will take place on July 21, starting at 10:30 am.
Faced with the continuous rise in production costs suffered by professionals in agriculture and livestock, these organizations decided to focus the protest on the increase in fuel prices, which they consider abusive “because of speculative behavior by the main oil companies that control the activity of refining, in addition to a good part of the distribution and marketing of fuels”, they denounce.
Repsol’s recent communication to the National Securities and Markets Commission (CNMV) in which it acknowledged that in the second quarter of 2022 the margin of its refining activity rose 242% compared to the first quarter of the year “it is nothing more than the evident proof of that speculation”, they insist. And it is that, according to reports, its margin has gone from 6.8 dollars/barrel in the first quarter to 23.2 dollars/barrel in the April-June period.
That is why Asaja, COAG and UPA launch a request to the central and regional governments to grant direct aid for agricultural diesel. In addition, the agrarian organizations demand that the central government “act and intervene to the extent necessary so that the oligopolistic and speculative practices cease immediately, because it is intolerable that the support measures, financed with public resources, are neutralized for the farmers and the rest of society and end up in the pockets of the oil companies”, they lament.
