Let’s say this homage failed very well in Far Cry 6.
The tributes to other titles of the same house or of other authors are a custom and the new Far Cry 6 he is no stranger to this custom. Obviously, the reference to one of the most important ─ if not the most important ─ Ubisoft saga could not be missing, with that little veiled reference that however does not seem to have succeeded perfectly.
We are obviously talking about the leap of faith, also honored by The Witcher II, with an Altair killed on a haystack. In Far Cry 6, however, everything takes a particular turn. At the top of an old tower, which recalls those present in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, starring Edward Kenway, you can easily climb thanks to a ladder and everything seems to suggest to the player to make a leap of faith: same ledge, sound of an eagle and a haystack at the bottom.
But this easter egg is a death trap. In fact, jumping the only thing that will be achieved is certain death from a fall, becoming in fact one of the homages in a most lethal video game ever. On Reddit the victims are not counted and I am certainly not to blame: everything suggests the leap, requiring a real “faith” towards the developers. Evidently misplaced faith.
