Preparations are underway for the next Menarini Fair Play International Award, the event that every year celebrates the athletes who have become standard-bearers of ethics, loyalty and respect throughout the world. Florence and Fiesole reopen their doors to the event dedicated to the healthy values of sport, which since 1997 has rewarded over 400 legends of the caliber of Javier Zanetti, Federica Pellegrini, Gabriel Batistuta and Tommie Smith.
The first novelty of this edition is the partnership with Sky Tg24 which will follow the days of the Award. Starting from the appointment on Wednesday 3 July with the traditional gala dinner, which will welcome the future winners in the suggestive location of Piazzale Michelangelo, in Florence. On Thursday 4 July the spotlight will be on the Roman Theater of Fiesole for the awards ceremony, broadcast on Sportitalia, which will anoint the winners of this edition as ambassadors of Menarini Fair Play: witnesses of fairness, solidarity and all the essential principles that make of an athlete an immortal myth.
Like last year, the event will be preceded by two fundamental stages. The names of the 2024 winners will be revealed on Wednesday 5 June during the presentation press conference, scheduled in Rome at the CONI Hall of Honour. On this occasion, the Menarini Giovani Fair Play Award will also be awarded, which highlights the most beautiful gestures of ‘fair play’ performed by the new generations.
The special Fiamme Gialle “Study and Sport” prize will be awarded on Monday 17 June, an award established in collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza Sports Group and Coni Toscana, during the press conference in Florence.
“We are thrilled to announce a new edition full of surprises that we can’t wait to reveal – declare Antonello Biscini, Valeria Speroni Cardi and Ennio Troiano, members of the Board of the Fair Play Menarini Foundation – This year too, we hope that the stories and the values of the new winners are an inspiration especially for the younger ones”.
