A few months ago, Munich treated the BMW X3 and X4 to a facelift, now the electric BMW iX3 is also passing the plastic surgeon. It mainly cuts into the nose of the SUV, resulting in narrower headlights and a larger grille. The rear light clusters get a black spot color that makes the new design stand out more. The M Sport design package is now standard, for 20-inch wheels and laser lights you still have to impose.
The upgraded interior, refreshed with blue design keys, receives the latest generation of the iDrive multimedia module, which is dominated by a 12.3-inch touch display. Perforated Sensatec sports seats are standard. The BMW iX3 offers the choice between two equipment lines: Inspiring and Impressive. The equipment level Inspiring comes with an adaptive suspension, a panoramic roof and an automatic boot lid, the Impressive does things like a head-up display, the Kardon sound system and a Vernasca leather interior decoration on top.
Greater driving range?
The underlying technology is not affected. Even after the facelift, the BMW iX3 combines an 80 kWh battery pack with a single electric motor on the rear axle. The electric drive unit develops 286 hp and 400 Nm, which is enough to accelerate the BMW iX3 from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The battery pack promises a WLTP range of 460 km/h, DC charging is possible up to 150 kW.
The renewed BMW iX3 will make its debut in September, at the IAA in Munich 2021. Belgian deliveries are scheduled for autumn.
