New Delhi Social media company Facebook said on Tuesday that it has special teams to stop people using the platform with the wrong intentions. He also said that the company has also removed more than 100 networks from its platform in a coordinated manner.
Facebook’s statement came after allegations by a former employee of the company. The employee has alleged that the company took a loose stance in ignoring the actions of fake account holders on its platform. Through these accounts, attempts were made to influence elections and political affairs at the global level.
Bajfeed News has given a report about this by quoting an internal letter written by Facebook employee. The letter is written by former Facebook data scientist Shofi Zhang. It says that the government and political parties of many countries influence the public opinion by using fake accounts.
A Facebook spokesperson said on Tuesday, “We have formed special teams which include prominent experts to prevent people with the wrong intentions from misusing our platform.” The result of this is that more than 100 networks involved in unnatural behavior have been removed from the platform.
The spokesman said that it is the priority of the company to work against those who misuse the platform with unethical or false motives. He said, “We carefully examine every case before taking action or making any public claim about it.” It also includes the issue raised by Zhang.
It is noteworthy that Facebook has been facing criticism since the Wall Street report. A Wall Street Journal report alleged that the policy on the subject of the social media company supports the ruling party in India. Since then, the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress have been criticizing each other over the matter.
